Network Settings to NVR

Created on:2026-06-03 11:20

Default Factory IP of NVR

The default factory IP of NVR: 192.168.1.9

Note: When accessing the device for the first time, modify the NVR IP to the same network segment as the local PC.

Default Username & Password of NVR

  • Username: admin
  • Password: blank (no password)

Network Transmission Strategy

Options: Image Quality Priority, Adaptive, Smoothness Priority; default as Image Quality Priority.

Tip: If stuttering occurs during cloud remote access, switch to Smoothness Priority.

High-Speed Network Download

Path: Main Menu → System Settings → Network Settings → High-Speed Network DownloadTick this option to accelerate downloading recordings and files via web client.

Example: Local LAN download speed for recordings rises from 1MB/s to 1.4MB/s~1.5MB/s after enabling this function.

Troubleshooting: Prompt of Mismatched IP / Subnet Mask / Gateway during IP Configuration

Ensure the first three segments of IP and default gateway are consistent.Example: IP:192.168.1.9 | Default Gateway:192.168.1.1

Mobile Monitoring

Mobile Monitoring Port

Port 554 is abolished in new firmware versions. It was exclusively for legacy VMEYE mobile APP and no longer required; the mobile monitoring port entry has been removed.

IP Access Permission

Error: Access IP is blacklisted

a. Whitelist enabled: Go to Main Menu → System Settings → Network Service → IP Permission → Whitelist on local monitor, delete relevant rules or disable whitelist function.b. Blacklist enabled: Go to Main Menu → System Settings → Network Service → IP Permission → Blacklist on local monitor, delete relevant rules or disable blacklist function.c. Manually removing online access IP on NVR locally will also trigger this error; wait for 30 minutes or reboot NVR to restore access.d. If above solutions fail, contact Xiongmai technical support.

FTP

Function of Remote Directory in FTP Configuration Page

a. Remote Directory is used to customize a folder name for storing uploaded snapshots and video files. Leave blank to apply system default name without impairing normal FTP functions.b. Custom folder name only supports numerals and English letters; Chinese characters will cause garbled folder names after upload.c. Contact sales department or account manager for customized firmware if Chinese directory naming is required.

Issue: Continuous picture upload but no recording via FTP when alarm triggers

If alarm mode is set to Normally Closed, alarms keep triggering to upload small-sized snapshots continuously. Recordings are larger in file size and will only be uploaded after the whole alarm event ends and recording file is fully generated.

RTSP

RTSP Port

Default port: 554

RTSP URL Format for VLC & Third-party Player

Template:rtsp://$(IP):$(PORT)/user=$(USER)&password=$(PWD)&channel=$(Channel)&stream=$(Stream).sdp?real_stream

Example:rtsp://10.6.10.25:554/user=admin&password=&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream

For public network access, forward RTSP port (default 554), adjustable under Network Service → RTSP.

DDNS

Required Port Mapping for DDNS Domain Binding

  • Media TCP Port: 34567
  • HTTP Port: 80 (Change to non-80 port before port forwarding)

Both ports are viewable and editable in Network Settings.

Domain access redirects to router page

Change default HTTP port to a non-80 value, forward both updated HTTP port and TCP port on router, then access device via domain name + port number.

Email Settings

Supported Mailbox Providers

Verified available: 126, 163, 263, Sina, 139, 156, QQPending verification: Gmail (restricted by Google mail server policy)Unsupported: Hotmail, Yahoo (no available SMTP service)

Default Mail Ports

  • Standard SMTP: 25
  • SSL encrypted SMTP: 465

SMTP Server Address Format

Example for QQ mailbox: smtp.qq.com

3G/4G Network

Remote access via DDNS under 3G dial-up

Not available. 3G dial-up assigns intranet LAN IP which cannot be routed for public network, making DDNS resolution invalid.

Traffic consumption for cloud remote access over 3G

Example parameter: CIF resolution, bitrate 512Kb/sCalculation formula:(512Kb/s ÷ 8) × 60s = 3840KB/min = 3.75MB/min

Idle 3G dial-up traffic without live preview access

Cloud service sends heartbeat packet every 30s to check device online status.Approximate daily traffic: Inbound ≈56KB, Outbound≈81KB.

4G Supported NVR Models

All DVR with firmware released after Dec.12,2014 support 4G.Compatible 4G module manufacturers: ZTE, Longsung, YUGA.Supported mobile operators (China Mobile/Unicom/Telecom) depend on module specification; most modules support multi-operator networks.

WIFI

Compatible USB WIFI Modules

  • Ralink: RT3070, RT5370
  • MediaTek: MT7601U

Default built-in support: RT3070; partial compatibility for MT7601U.Custom firmware development required for RT5370, only one module can be pre-enabled per device.

UPNP

Automatic Port Forwarding via UPNP

Enable UPNP function on both router and NVR to realize automatic port forwarding.
